Fluid Studio
During the spring semester of 2010 I will be teaching one of the five new Masters Studios. Developed this past summer as part of the graduate program curriculum revisions, the Masters Studio will replace the P2 thesis program. The Masters Studios are open to those graduates in their final semster in either the two or three year M.Arch programs. While the Masters Projects are mostly grouped into areas of focus (such as sustainable cities, building delivery practices, community based planning, history and theory, advanced technologies, housing and urban design, high rise typology, and cultural institutions) my studio will be developed around a specific approach.
Simply put, the Fluid Studio will operate as a studio; along the same lines as my many advanced studios. The studio will meet three afternoons a week in a dedicated workspace and while most time will be dedicated to individual critiques, there will be frequent group pin-ups and reviews. The idea is to structure the studio, which is populated by twelve individual projects, so that we can effect a collaborative and cooperative framework supporting the projects.
Details will be announced later but anyone considering the Fluid Studio should request an appointment to discuss the studio outline. In the meantime, please see the presentation below.
